The Bachelor's Degree Programme aims to provide students with a critical learning of the main philosophical themes and issues in their historical development, in their theoretical extent, as well as in their connection with other disciplines and research fields (psychology, human sciences, education studies, artistic disciplines).
The programme offers curricula in Philosophy and Philosophy and History but also in Philosophy and Human Sciences. It is the only higher education programme in Italy reflecting on philosophical matters that are inherent in the contemporary man in a globalized society. Human sciences (psychology, anthropology) and education sciences represent great added value in a rigorous philosophical training.
Thanks to the skills you will have gained you will be able to carry out a professional career in such diverse fields as research, print and digital publishing, staff training, and libraries and archives.
The educational activities include classroom teaching, workshops, research activities and internships, in order to acquire wide-ranging skills that can be readily transferable into the world of work.
Knowledge acquired by students will be assessed through written and oral exams during the entire university career.
The degree exam consists in writing a paper/thesis, that will be evaluated by the supervisor and co-supervisor professor through a short discussion with the student, in addition to the standard procedures for First Cycle Degree Programme graduations.

Qualifications/expertise after completing the program
Graduates may turn to advanced studies in the field of philosophical and social analysis and educational counselling. According to recent surveys carried out by Almalaurea, further possible job opportunities may be found within the following sectors and considering the specificity of the curricula: research, human resources (in private and public bodies), libraries, event organization, publishing, journalism, advertising, communication, audiovisual.
Graduates can also pursue their studies and attend a first-level Professional Master's Programme dealing with philosophy and philosophical counselling as well as science of cognition and educational training.
Students interested in teaching at secondary schools have to obtain a Master's degree and a further teaching qualification as by law.

Please notice that students lacking suitable certification in Italian will have to take a preliminary Italian language test, held every academic year at the beginning of September.
The following students do not need to submit evidence of Italian language proficiency: Italian mother-tongue students, EU students (wherever resident), non-EU students who have been living in Italy for at least a year.
B1 level of English language is also required.

Please notice that students lacking certification in English will be required to fulfill the requirement in the first year of studies.
Access to this programme is unrestricted. However, personal knowledge will be evaluated with an italian language written test and with a test on philosophy.
If the result of the evaluation test is negative, the student can enroll, but he/she receives a supplementary educational debt (OFA), which means that the student must fill any gaps in his/ her background through specific activities organized by the University.
A certified knowledge of the English language at least at level B1 is also required.

Students must have attended school for at least 12 years.
Students coming from countries where admission test to university is compulsory, must also submit a certificate attesting that they have passed it (i.e. Concurso Vestibular, Gao Kao minimum score 380, Pruebas de Selectividad, Veveosi Prosvasis, ecc.).
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Italian.
Often you can get a suitable transcript from your school/university. If yours is not the case, you will need official translations along with verified copies of the original.
The official translation can be issued in the country of origin or in Italy - either by a local court of law, by court interpreters or by official translators. The entry qualification documents must also be legalized or bear the Apostille stamp certifying that the signature or seal on the document is genuine, and submitted in the original or certified copy. Documents issued by European countries joining international conventions (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Ireland, Latvia, Estonia and Germany) are exempt from legalization or Apostille.
You must bring the original entry qualification documents along with you when you finally go to the university.

In addition, Ca' Foscari offers students a variety of forms of financial aid: scholarships, exemptions and reduction of fees, student loans, prizes for outstanding dissertations and other forms of concession.
Some of the student loans involve agreements with banks allowing students to pay tuition fees on favourable terms. The most deserving students are entitled to an interest-free advance repayable a year after graduation.
Students are also given the opportunity to participate in forms of student collaborations involving paid jobs within the university.
